Beg, Borrow, Steal

“In my life to date, I have begged more often than I’ve wanted to. I’ve borrowed, but I’ve always repaid. But I have only ever stolen once. And in order to tell this story, which is so embarrassing, I had to travel to Portland, where I know exactly one person. And I stand in front of you hoping like hell she isn’t here.”
The Moth (themoth.org) is a monthly storytelling competition held across America and in London and Melbourne. You put your name in the hat. Ten storytellers are chosen at random. You have five minutes to tell a true story about yourself without notes on the theme of the month.
This is a recording of me at The Moth in Portland, Oregon, USA in January 2020. The theme was “Beg, Borrow or Steal.”
